Deloitte’s AI-enabled Contract Management Solution (dTrax)

The team brings together data scientists, machine learning engineers, UX designers, and strategy experts to design solutions that integrate automation, predictive analytics, generative AI (GenAI), and agentic AI systems.

Project Overview

One of my primary projects was dTrax, an AI-powered application designed for lawyers and legal teams.

The platform helps professionals:

  • Manage contract version control seamlessly

  • Track the status and progress of legal documents

  • Automate repetitive administrative tasks

  • Improve collaboration and compliance across teams

By combining AI-driven insights with streamlined workflows, dTrax enables legal teams to reduce manual effort, increase accuracy, and focus on higher-value work.

Due to strict confidentiality NDA agreements, I cannot showcase the final screens, but my work directly contributed to AI solutions now being used across Deloitte’s global client network.

My Role & Contribution

As the Lead UX Designer, my focus was on translating complex legal workflows into a clear, accessible, and scalable experience for enterprise users.

Key contributions included:

  • Workflow Mapping: Understanding how lawyers manage contracts, approvals, and legal documentation, then streamlining these processes into optimized digital flows.

  • AI-Driven Interfaces: Designing screens that present machine learning recommendations and automated insights in an intuitive way.

  • Version Control Simplification: Creating an interface that makes tracking and comparing document versions simple and error-proof.

  • Compliance & Accessibility: Ensuring all designs met WCAG/AODA standards and adhered to Deloitte’s global compliance framework.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partnering with AI engineers, legal experts, and business strategists to align product vision with user needs.

Challenges & Approach

Designing an AI-powered legal platform meant addressing:

  • Complex, non-linear legal workflows

  • Highly sensitive data and strict confidentiality standards

  • Multiple stakeholder groups, each with unique priorities

  • The need for trust and transparency in AI-driven features

To solve these, I applied:

  • Service Design Thinking to capture end-to-end touchpoints

  • Iterative Prototyping for rapid stakeholder feedback

  • Design Systems to ensure scalability across Deloitte’s global teams

  • Accessibility-First Practices for a diverse user base

Outcomes & Impact

While final designs remain under NDA, the app achieved significant improvements for legal teams, including:

  • Faster contract reviews through automation and AI-assisted recommendations

  • Reduced administrative workload, freeing lawyers to focus on higher-value legal strategy

  • Improved accuracy with version control and document tracking

  • Greater user adoption and satisfaction, driven by intuitive design
